The Jewish Theatre Ensemble exists to provide the Northwestern community with high quality entertainment and exposure to Jewish involvement in the arts. The organization aspires to challenge common perceptions and generate conversation relating to issues that fall within the resonance of the Jewish experience through artistic media with particular relevance to the Northwestern community. JTE will be involved in the celebration and education of Jewish culture on campus. In order to do this, The Jewish Theatre Ensemble will operate at a level of artistic excellence as well as encourage and support creative endeavors that promote Jewish themes in the arts.

JTE Board Positions

The Artistic Director shall guide the objectives and actions of JTE in order to fulfill its Mission Statement, coordinate and preside over meetings of the Executive Board, and oversee and assist Officers with the fulfillment of their duties. The Artistic Director must also advise directors of shows on fulfilling the JTE Mission Statement, with specific regard to promoting Jewish themes, and manage external relations, including those with Northwestern University, Associated Student Government (ASG), Norris University Center, the Fiedler Hillel Center (Hillel), and the Student Theatre Coalition (StuCo).

The Financial Director shall manage financial transactions, records and accounts, establish and manage an annual budget with the Artistic Director, and ensure that officers are meeting financial expectations.

The Supervising Producer shall advise and assist producers in fulfilling their duties. He/she shall oversee personnel, scheduling, budgeting, and other production aspects of JTE productions and ensure their successful implementation. The Supervising Producer is also to ensure, through supervision of the producers, that the JTE Mission Statement is fulfilled.

The Development Director shall raise funds, which includes applying for grants and soliciting donations, maintain and develop relations with the community external to Northwestern University, maintain and develop relations with alumni, and assist, if necessary, with the raising of funds for JTE productions.

The Technical Director shall maintain and oversee the use of JTE's technical assets, including space, equipment and materials. The TD is expected to advise and assist with the technical aspects of JTE shows and events and facilitate JTE's information technology needs.

The Publicity Director shall advise and assist with the publicity of JTE shows and coordinate and execute the publicity of all other JTE events.

The Special Projects Director shall propose ideas for Special Projects to the Executive Board and, upon their approval, oversee their execution. The Special Projects director is expected to fulfill the JTE Mission Statement through these projects.

The Storytellers Producer shall produce the JTE Storytellers season and manage the Storytellers Ensemble. He/she must advise and assist the Storytellers director and ensemble members in fulfilling the JTE Mission Statement.
